This last week when we were in Utah we saw Eric's Grandma Nelson. We love grandma Nelson!! I got to know her when we were going to BYU and I feel in love with this lady. Eric use to call her his spunky Grandma. She is full of love and a great example of hard work. When we went to see her everyone said to expect the worst. However, we were pleasantly surprised. She remembered who we were, she knew the boys, and we talked about old times. It was a wonderful visit and now we can say it was our little miracle. For we saw her on Sunday, by Monday she was admitted into the care of Hospice, and by Friday she had pasted away. We haven't been to Utah in 4 years, so what a miracle that we got to see her before she returned to Heaven and another little miracle that we got one of the last coherent visits with Grandma. We will miss Grandma terribly, but we smile at the thought of her reunion with Grandpa. So we are packing up and heading to Utah again for the second time in two weeks.

What a sweet post. Our first visit with Grandma on Thursday was sad, we had to explain who we were.. however two days later we saw her she was doing really well and knew who we all were, and it was such a sweet visit. (so different than the first..) I felt like it was a little miracle too, an answered prayer. I got to really see her before she passed. We too will miss her so much..
I'm sorry to hear about Eric's grandma. How awesome that you nurtured such a close relationship with her. I'm glad you were able to visit with her and spend some cherished time together before she passed away!
What a blessing to have been able to see her, visit, and tell her how much you love her one more time. There is peace in knowing that you did get to say your goodbyes. Have a safe trip to Utah.
